Knowledge Engineering & Artificial Intelligence (KEAI) Lab. aims to investigate innovative applications of AI, knowledge engineering, and data mining techniques to various real-world problems. Major application domains include intelligent personal assistant, natural language question & answering, ubiquitous healthcare, and biomedical informatics, and the techniques used cover topic mining, intention analysis, temporal-spatial information extraction, question paraphrasing, action recognition, sensor fusion, and genome sequence analysis. We aim to extract useful knowledge from the ubiquitous real-world data, organize and store them in such form as to apply appropriate machine learning algorithms.
Current projects include WiseQA using Self-Evolving Knowledge Bases, Proactive Event Suggestion, Sensor Fusion-Based Healthcare Surveillance, Personalized Context-Aware Healthcare Agent for Mobile Phones.
