The School of Computing at Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) seeks outstanding tenure-track faculty candidates in all areas of computer science at the Assistant Professor level. Exceptional applications will also be considered for the Associate and Full Professor levels.

 

Key Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate excellent research and scholarship potential, as well as a strong commitment to teaching. Applicants should complete their PhDs and obtain the final degree before the official appointment, if not at the time of their application.

Academic Environment The Department of Computer Science at KAIST was founded in 1971 and expanded to the School of Computing in 2015: it is currently home to 49 faculty members as well as 443 undergraduate and 552 graduate students. It offers an exciting academic environment with world-leading research activities. In addition to the undergraduate, major, master’s, and doctoral programs, the school also encompasses the Graduate School of Information Security and the Graduate School of Web Science Technology. Undergraduate students can also enroll in the Software Intensified Program, funded by the Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning. KAIST was founded in 1971 to establish a model of a research-focused university as well as to educate the elites in science and technology, then critically needed by the country. Since its birth, KAIST has successfully grown into a highly respected member of the global science community, ranked as the 6th of the World’s Most Innovative Universities by Reuters in 2016 (1st in Asia).
