Hye Won Chung is an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering (with joint appointment at the School of Computing) at KAIST. She completed her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at MIT in 2014. From 2014 to 2017, She worked at University of Michigan as a research fellow. Dr. Chung's research interests include data science, information theory, statistical inference, and machine learning. Her research goal is to provide theoretical framework to data science and machine learning by using tools from information theory and statistical inference. She also aims to develop efficient algorithmic tools in extracting and exploiting information in data science and machine learning.
