Professor
Jae-Gil Lee is a full professor at the School of Computing, KAIST and am leading Data Mining Lab. Before joining KAIST in 2010, he worked at the IBM Almaden Research Center and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He earned his Ph.D. in computer science in 2005 from KAIST. His research interests encompass mobility and stream data mining, deep learning-based big data analysis, and distributed deep learning. Prof. Lee received the Best Paper Award at AAAI ICWSM 2013. He published over 80 papers, and his publications were cited around five thousand times in total (as of October 2020). He has served as a program committee member of premier international conferences such as KDD, PVLDB, SIGMOD, ICDE, WebConf, and AAAI; and served as the program committee co-chair of PAKDD 2017. In addition, he is serving as an associate editor of IEEE TKDE and a steering committee member of PAKDD since 2019.
