Utrecht, 포스텍, HKUST, TU Eindhoven을 차례로 거친 후 2005년부터 KAIST에서 교수로 임용되었고, 2009년 정교수가 되었다. 이산 기하 및 계산 기하를 연구하는 그룹을 이끌고 있다.

계산 기하 분야의 교과서로 널리 쓰이는 "Computatioal Geometry: Algorithms and Applications"의 저자 중 한 명이며 저널인 Discrete & Computational Geometry와 Computational Geometry: Theory and Applications의 에디터이다.
