An educated physicist and former professor of mathematics (2010-2015) with a PhD (2002) and Habilitation degree (2008) in computer science, Martin Ziegler has proudly joined KAIST's School of Computing in 2015. He organized (2014 in Germany) and chaired the programme committee (2015 in Tokyo) of the annual international conference on Computability and Complexity in Analysis; and served (2012-2015) as spokesperson of the IANUS group on scientific peace research and technology assessment. His recognizion is reflected by two JSPS fellowships (2006+2013), a research award (2006), a best-paper award (2009), and two teaching awards (2011).
